TMA Block Party 2023

Client: The Toledo Museum of Art

Every fall, the Toledo Museum of Art throws open the gallery doors and hosts a campus-wide block party, activating the block inside and out. 2023’s event showcased the anniversary of hip-hop, culminating in the headline entertainer, DJ Spinderella. A special block party called for special visuals to accompany the event.

The museum’s evergreen marketing language– Art Brings Toledo Together– was the springboard towards a twist on the Block Party’s campaign language: Art Brings The Block Together.

We were able to lean way in on the 50th anniversary of hip-hop for the graphics package– custom illustrations with heavy texture peppered all collateral and event signage. A flexible wide-set font package embedded enough levity and off-beat sensibility to the graphics package, keeping all elements of the visual system both fresh and on-brand.
